Schoolhouse 5K Run/Walk
The 1st schoolhouse run took place in March 2009 and was the senior project for Elizabeth Carnes of Pulaski. Liz planned and organized the race to help offset the cost of the Pulaski Marching Band trip to Washington, D.C. as her senior project. The band travels to Washington every 4-5 years to represent the state of New York in the National Independence Day Parade. The total cost of the trip is approximately $50,000.
To help raise funds for the trip, our school community has embraced the Schoolhouse 5K and we look forward to watching our race grow year after year. As the race in 2017 approaches, we are hoping to achieve an increase in participants, and ultimately limit the cost for the Pulaski band members' trip to Washington D.C. on July 3-4, 2018.
